【摘要】:Eachwoodmembercontainsacombinationofcharacteristicswhichaffectstheperformanceofthecontainerorpalletinwhichitisused.Therequirementsforclasses,hereinspecified,havebeenestablishedasthesecharacteristicsarerelatedtothefunctionalapplicationofmembersincontainerandpalletconstructionandtotheservicethatthecontainerorpalletmaybecalledupontoperform.Anyotherspecifiedrequirementsorlimitationspeculiartoaparticularcontainerorpalletconstructionoruse,suchasprohibitingknotholesorlooseknotstoprovidesiftproofness,limitationtocertainwoodgroupsorspecies,ortheselectionofapplicableclassesforspecificmembersofortypesofcontainersorpalletshallbetheresponsibilityofthestandardforthatcontainerorpallet.1.1Thispracticecoversthequalityrequirementsforthreeclassesofhardwoodandsoft-woodmembers,excludingman-madeorfabricatedwoodcomposites,usedintheconstructionofboxes,crates,pallets,andblockingandbracing.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thispracticedoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityoftheregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
