【摘要】:Resistancetomechanicalpenetrationisanimportantcharacteristicofconsumersanitarytissueproductsincludingtoilettissue,facialtissue,tablenapkins,andpapertowels;therefore,itisalsoanimportantcharacteristicoftheunconvertedtissuepaperfromwhichtheseproductsaremade.ThepenetrationprincipleusedinthistestmethodisfoundinTestMethodsD4833,F1306,andD3787.Theequipmentinthesemethodsgenerallyisanadaptorforballbursttestingmountedonatensiletestingmachineandisnotincludedinthistestmethodasdatasupportingitsuseinmechanicalpenetrationofsanitarytissueisnotavailable.Thistestmethoddescribesaself-containedtestingapparatus,whichisinuseinthetissueindustry.TheequipmentusedinthistestmethoddiffersfromthatinTestMethodD774andthetwomethodsgivedifferentresults.Theadvantagesofthistestmethodforusewithtissueincludeimprovedcorrelationwithresistancetomechanicalpenetrationoftheenduseproduct,aswellas,improvedeaseofuseandprecisionofdatawhenusedwithtissueproducts,whichcharacteristicallyhavehigherextensibilityandlowerstrengthpropertiesthanothergradesofpapertowhichTestMethodD774isbettersuited.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesthemeasurementoftheresistancetomechanicalpenetrationofsanitarytissuepapers.Applicationtootherpapertypesispossiblebutisnotcoveredhere.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
